Enjoyed the video! I have a KX080-3 excavator also. Great machine. Which camera are you using in the cab? Audio is really good. I am using GoPro Hero 7 Black and audio not so good. Looked on your website and saw you had Canon and DJI. Just wondering what you were using and if you had a mic. Thanks! God Bless y’all.

Mike, I’ve just been to two different Stijl dealers and can’t get a straight answer ; hopefully you can point me in the right direction. I’m looking for a 16” rip chain for my MS271, but all these guys want to do is sell me an aggressive crosscut chain; tried that already. I have a lot of 16” rounds that are too heavy to roll to the splitter, let alone lift onto it, & the splitter has no hydraulic lift. Compact Kubota B7400 has no boom or bucket. You have any ideas?

I found out again that if I wait until the end you answer my questions. Wondered why you weren't using a traxcavator for clearing the top soil. But if you only rented just one machine for all the tasks, the backhoe was best. I enjoy your videos. I have my second cup of coffee watching everyday. In MN, retired after 40 years in EMS and the fire service.

Soooooo, if you have shale underneath the topsoil where your stripping, why do you need MORE shale for fill? Just curious as to the thought process.

Mike - Nice video. You may already have this planned, but I thought it might be cool to see a before and after set of shots on the section of property where the "Hobby Garage" is going to be created. Maybe some angles with mowing or the 4th of July for the before shots, and then what it looks like now. Also, if you could to some time lapse stuff of the garage being built, that would be great. Thanks for all that you do in creating these videos. There are lots of us that enjoy them. Blessings to you, Melissa, and the kids. Hi to Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.

I saw a building where The guy at a building like that and put a bar area in there and he made the wall behind it and the bar out of all the different words from all the different trees he took down off his property. He was over in Kentucky so he had hickory and cherry and a bunch of them, it just looks kind of cool you made some probably 8” x 1” boards just to use as paneling and just made it out of all the different woods and there was one area where you could see about eight boards in a row labeled with every kind of wood on there, it was kind of interesting and cool.

You do a pretty good job of not gouging when you’re sweeping that bucket back to you... both with your bucket teeth down and bucket flat... you should talk about some basic controls/technique... I’m sure you’ll have some haters, but that’s an important technique for keeping things flat...

Hey there Walter! Yes I do try to stay as involved as I can. This years been a busy one. Ever since Covid started here in March I’ve been working nonstop at FedEx. When I’m not there I’m with my wife Kate and son Ty. We do a lot of work at our own house. But as for running equipment I can run the tractors but that’s the extent of it. I did a little with skid loaders but not much. I don’t have any experience with an excavator like this though, only small backhoes and it’s limited. I’d like to put more time into operating but I just need more time lol.

Looks like a lot of excavation over the next few days to clear the ground and ready it for the new building. Too bad the bigger Kubota tractor didn't have flat blade like a bulldozer? Using the land plane does make sense because it's already there. Nice dexterity with the excavator by the way. Have you many hours on machines like this in the past? Like another gentleman mentioned, very much enjoy the music selection on this one too. That first track sounded so much like Stephen Stills, it wasn't bad at all! Very skilled guitar work here.😁

The reason for your dry spell is the culverts you put in for your mum. You'll make it worse when you do the pond. Like "what did you do that for" Don't worry because sometime it's going to rain so much in what will appear to be an attempt to wash away all your work. I think your shale explains why so many of your trees blow over. I don't think I've seen a decent tap root yet although it's amazing how well your ground grows trees considering they're all sitting on rock. You're about to enter my favorite time of year when all the leaves turn, closely followed by the worst time when all the trees are bare. Spoken by someone living where everything is evergreen.

Hey Mike - when you rented the excavator, did they send along a cleanup bucket as well or just the digging bucket? A 42" cleanup bucket get the job done a little quicker for you.

Could you hire a driver and HIS truck (probably know a operator from work who owns one)? No pick up and return. no insurance/damage to worry about. Keep digging while they drive and dump. Did you decide on the shale pit location? Great work on the excavator, especially for a part timer. Take care Morgans. Thanks

Don’t take offence to this Mike. Moving things with the bucket by swinging side to side is really hard on the pins , boom etc. You make every thing look fine with your operating skills. But for the beginners watching you it might be teaching them bad habits. But that said I enjoy all your posts , keep them coming.
