Hi to the Morgans. I have been watching most of your shows for over a year. I was born before the 50's and grew up in Bradford county on the Susquehanna on my dad's farm. Later we moved to Tucson, AZ. I finished school there. I was a SeaBee in the navy after getting out of school. I married a classmate, and we ended up in Bagdad, AZ. Retired miner (open pit) in 2005, and am living here since. My wife of almost 50 years died a few years back, but I still like to keep busy, but having arthritis keeps me at a dull pace. I love your show, and family. Walt B.

Mike - Great time lapse collection. It will be something to look back on when the building is complete. A couple of my favorites were the angle from the thumb on the excavator when you were working with the shale, and the shot of the camera tipping over when the safety chains on the dump trailer caught it in the pass over scene. Nicely done sir. And I look forward to the time lapse stuff of the building going up too. Blessings to you, Melissa, and the family. Hi to Hunter, Hannah, and Eva. TAke care everyone.

Wow, that was quite the production! I loved it!! And the music. I haven’t been watching your channel the last month so I didn’t know about the building you folks planned. This project was huge with moving all those trees and dirt and whatever that top layer was. I’ve never seen that on the west coast before. I was sad to see those beautiful fir trees go. Can you give me an idea of how much land you cleared and prepared for this project? Great job Mike and Melissa! Barb from Pacific Northwest.

Mike, just a great video. I’m almost 75 years young and I want to go buy an excavator, dump trailer, chain saw and tractor to start a project. But I might get frowned upon down here in Stuart, Florida digging up my neighborhood! Keep up living my fantasy life style! Thanks Buddy!

You made me think for a change, the best way really to chop down a tree is not to cut it but to dig up around the roots and then to allow the tree to fall over to pull out the roots by its own weight. Saves from doing the job twice.

Very nice video collage. For the actual building, it would be nice to have a camera from a set angle (or two) take a picture every hour or couple hours, from start to finish. I don't know if you can do it, but I think it would show off the whole process... As well, I was at BK today and thought of Hunter. Tell him he needs to try the Bacon and Cheese Crispy Chicken Sandwich, it's very good...

Seeing Eva on the bike reminded me. I broadcast your channel on the TV. I was watching the episode where the girls were reviewing the new e-bike. While watching, my 20yr old son walked into the room and simply said “Whoa, who’s that.” I explained who Hannah and Eva were and he sat and watched with me for bit. Two minutes later my 17yr old son walks into the room and says, “Whoa, who’s that”. I busted out laughing and he couldn’t understand what was so funny. I think your girls have admirers in Kansas. Beware. 😀

Definitely not your average DIYer. You made running the excavator look so easy. Great work and congrats on being able to not only save so much money paying someone else to do all of the dirt work. But also the satisfaction of being able to do so much yourself. If your builders take as much pride in the building work as you and Melissa do in your work, the new building will be awesome. It was fun watching!

Does that need to be compacted before you build? I know when I built my barn I left it settle after leveling for a year and it settled about 4 inches even though it was run over as the fill was installed. The next time I built I compacted with a heavy compactor in six inch lifts.
